Infinity Ward may be taking steps to block one of the more commonly used methods of Xbox Live multiplayer cheating, according to a post on NeoGAF. It shows off a blurry screenshot (left), which reads: “This multiplayer session requires that you be in the game chat channel. If you don’t switch, you can’t play. Switch to the game chat channel now?” The implication, obviously, is that at least some of the multiplayer game types won’t let you have private chats with your buddies. This is solidly in rumor territory for now, but it’s a move that makes sense for the game.
It’s bound to cause some complaints among those who just legitimately like talking to their friends, but the Party Chat feature has also been used by some savvy players to continue talking strategy when the game would mute them. A dead player, for example, could give away the location of the enemy that just killed him without waiting to respawn. Given how seriously people take the multiplayer aspect of Modern Warfare, it makes sense to level the playing field. [1up]

It would be fair to say all of us at Gameguide are yet to be convinced the Wii is a console any of us would get into. HOWEVER a small video came across my desk from the just released “Rabbids go Home” which made my eyebrows rise and question my decision on the Wii.
After having their game leaked to the planet’s pirating populace and catching flack for some of the controversial secrets revealed therein, one could say that the folks at Infinity Ward are having a fairly rough week. However, they brought their latest batch of hardships upon themselves. A recent viral video for Modern Warfare 2, which featured Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels delivering a PSA (video NSFW) about overzealous grenade use, drew the ire of many of its viewers.

Ok, please tell me you know what game is being released in ten days time. Tell me that you’ve already pre-ordered it, and that you know it’s the most anticipated game of the year. Please tell me that it’s no surprise that this game is going to be the one to kick off our Pick Four for November…

Wet immediately brings to mind the Grindhouse style that Quentin Tarantino recently made popular. This styling of low budget horror, kung-fu and exploitation movies form the 70’s achieved a cult following despite poor print quality, and this homage adds to the over the top and visually violent game play that is the essence of Wet.
Thats right Sony Playstation New Zealand and Weta Workshops are teaming up in a competition to celebrate Ratchet & Clank’s New Offering – Ratchet & Clank : A Crack in Time.
