Mate, I have almost 1K’ed this game (just the last season then the remaining events to do)… but I cannot for the life of me get that drifting achievement.
I won’t even get close to 1k-ing Forza 3. I get too bored once you get to the level where the number of laps per race make in mind numbingly long, and take up an entire evening just to complete one race!
In the last season, most races last about 20 minutes, I think there are about 13 weekend races which go about 30 minutes, and each weekend race has one or two “normal” races in-between.
The way I play is to turn the volume down, and listen to podcasts or albums on my iPod. I just tend to zone out.
I actually found that the races dont get significantly longer, as the levels increase the cars get faster so the overall race time stays around 20 minutes. I actually found the individual races slightly longer through the middle of the game rather than in the last season.
Of course I will never 1k it as I also cannot drift to save me life & I am no where near the last achievement (gold in all races)even with a couple of weekends spent hiring drivers & then doing the house work while the xbox does its thing.
Yeah I kept waiting to hit that barrier (as I have with Forza 2 & all the GT games) but strangely it didn’t come this time and I actually noticed. I must confess that on the 6th season I did pick & choose which races I raced and then hired a driver for the tracks I didn’t enjoy.

Good point Aaron – maybe I just hit a psychological barrier….
