We’re getting our first in-game peak at Halo Reach today – or at least, our first peak that isn’t incredibly blurry. ShackNews reports that these screenshots were put up by retailer EB Games and quickly pulled, but as so often happens on the internet, it was too late. The shots seem to confirm a few rumors about the game, including squad combat and perks that are loaded in the form of equipped armor sets. Rumored footage of the game has also sparked word of a “Murder Mode” action to perform a stealth kill. Not exactly a subtle name, but it seems Bungie’s Halo swan song is intent on changing up the formula quite a bit.
The squad combat has been speculated on since the game’s premise was announced, and that speculation grew even more when the first trailer highlighted several Spartans. Bungie also recently hinted at a “super secret” multiplayer mode, which may (or may not) have something to do with the rumored Murder Mode feature. Check out the new screenshots below. [1up]
Halo is horrible. Unintelligible story, bad and dated graphics, The Flood, and a million ways to die by mistake (ever had a banshee fall on you?).
Stupid, overatted series.
