Happy Modern Warfare 2 Eve… With only hours to go until the first ‘Official’ launch of the Highly Anticipate Modern Warfare 2 we thought it was only fitting to make some career busting predictions about the game that’s pitched to be “The largest entertainment launch of all time”.

So I asked around the GameGuide offices and here came the predictions from the team :

MW2 will launch with great success in Australia and New Zealand. And until about 4am in the morning multiplayer type games will be sweet. Then we will start seeing Asian audiences connect, and the servers will become busy. But that’s cool because it will cope.

Until about lunchtime on Tuesday (New Zealand time) when the full force of European users will enter the fray and things start getting interesting. From here on in the gaming servers will be pushed harder and harder once the midnight launches hit the USA. At which stage most players in the south pacific will disconnect and start playing the single player campaign.

I also predict that there will be at least two updates pushed by the end of the week.. Which means that MW2 should be one of the most stable game releases out of the box.

I also predict that the mute feature will be one of the most highly used features of multigaming as we content with a whole new level of 13 year old trash talkers.

I’m predicting that MW2 will out sell any other game’s 1 week total sales in 2 days. Crazy i know. but that’s what I’m here for…

Also I predict that it will bring the internet to a stand still as everyone starts to play multiplayer… (this will occur again once the people who started the single player mode finish, in about 3days). So yea, I’m also predicting that it wins about 5 game of the year awards this year, and 7 next year.

I’m predicting that this will be the last Modern Warfare game that Infinity Ward make. It’s looking like they’ve pulled out all the stops; we’re going to be in for the most compelling yet diverse experience ever offered by a first person shooter. The locations are diverse, with a tease of a possible space mini-mission, ultimately ending up with you rolling through, and destroying suburban American, with the grand finale looking like a precursor to Fallout 3’s Capital Wasteland. The Airport Murder Simulator pushes the envelope as far as and non-Rockstar games company would be prepared to go. There will be no where to go but down for the Modern Warfare franchise after this baby hits our consoles in a couple of hours.

I’m also going to predict that Modern Warfare 2 will make so much cash that Activision – after being told by Infinity Ward that they won’t do another – will hand it over to Treyarch to bleed the iconic franchise to death.

I’m going to also predict that after making more money on 1 week than any other form of entertainment, Modern Warfare 2’s success will fast track the Call Of Duty film, which will probably suck, because it will be spun out quickly as a cash cow.

And Finally, I’m predicting that I’m going to look progressively more like a zombie as this week progresses and my lack of sleep catches up to me.
