A leaked video from France emerged today of the First Level from Modern Warfare 2.
The video shows the opening scene of the single player game which apparently shows the player acting as a terrorist, possibly as part of Makarov’s crew. This video clearly shows the player opening fire on a large group of unarmed civilians in an airport.
The big question is wether this is a masterful stroke by Infinity Ward to build up a very compelling story line, or just pushing the boundries too soon.
One thing is sure, Activision is frantically trying to pull down every copy of the leaked footage it can find.

Okay, we won’t deny it – the first TV spot for Left 4 Dead 2 is pretty cool. After all, it’s got the four survivor characters in a baseball stadium filled with the infected undead, one of which gets knocked into the bleachers (or at least a few feet through the air) by a baseball bat. But as much as it’s an advertisement for the game, it’s also one for GameStop, driving home the fact that the American baseball bat is available only through pre-order at the American retailer. You never want to bring a third person along on a date — not unless that date happens to be November 10th. Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling (A.K.A. fourzerotwo) has taken control and confirmed that a third-person camera viewpoint will be available in this holiday’s monolithic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, though it’ll be limited to specifically labeled online playlists. Activision and developer Infinity Ward are grooming Modern Warfare 2 to be the biggest first-person shooter release in years, but recently leaked footage suggests that the FPS market isn’t all they’re gunning for; Modern Warfare 2 looks like it might feature a third-person view mode.
The extremely low-quality video above was streamed from a French gamer who somehow got ahold of the PlayStation 3 version of the game well ahead of its November launch date. On this day of reckoning, Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification has denied Valve’s appeal to sell the unedited Left 4 Dead 2 down under. The three-member board determined unanimously that the game “could not be accommodated within the MA 15+ classification,” which is the highest rating allowed for video games in the region.
