Well The dream is over, the Final DLC for Fallout 3, Mothership Zeta was released on xbox just a few days ago and after a about 6 hours I had completed the latest installment.
Everyone knows the crashed alien spacecraft by now, home of the awesome Alien Blaster. Well a homing beacon has started broadcasting from the crash site. Upon investigation you are abducted by aliens and once again stripped of your worldly possessions. Upon waking your must break out of your cell, over power the alien guards and go on to recover your gear, make some friends and overthrow your alien masters.
Visually it was great seeing a high tech and undamaged set of levels. The scale of the mothership is rather grand and there were certainly a few times when I stopped for a better look. The new weapons are kinda neat and there were a few new items however much of the brik a brak was purely for aesthetic feel and was not collectible.
Its the little touches that really make it neat, picking up some alien tech and then looking at it in your pipboy was cool because where there should be an icon it had a pipOS error file not found. The survivor logs (collectible achievement *sigh*) are also worth listening to …” Whats happening, I cant feel my arms, wait what are those, are those my arms?! Put them back, give me back my arms”… Ahhhh good times =]
Its not a lot more than a great looking but linear expansion that gives you a few chuckles and 280ish more rounds for my precious Alien Blaster.
Stacking up all five DLC’s I would say this takes number 4, The Pitt ahead by a nose (and an ammo press). My order of favourites are as follows: Point Lookout Broken Steel Mothership Zeta The Pitt Operation: Anchorage
So what now, I only got one more acheivement to get and then I have done most of what fallout has to offer. That is until Falout 3 new Vegas comes out, maybe the same engine, deffinately a new chunk of radioactive America and different developers (Obsidian, formerly Black isle aka the original crew of fallout), its a spin off but I dont care. Incase anyone with any sway reads this, when are we getting Fallout 3: China? Reviewed by: Put your gamertag here too.
